Aristotle the Octopus

I have only a passing acquaintance with The Addams Family, on either TV or the big screen, and I have no recollection of Aristotle the Octopus. But according to the Addams Family section of the Fandom wiki, Aristotle was Pugsley's pet (not Gomez's). Knitting blogger Aunty Nicky appears to agree.

Wikipedia reproduces one of Charles Addams's original cartoons, which shows Aristotle the Octopus, but it doesn't mention him in the text (apart from in  the caption to the cartoon) and it doesn't say who he belongs to. So I can find no evidence that he belonged to Gomez; the correct answer to this question would appear to be "Pugsley Addams".

The University of Idaho Library tells us that Aristotle (the ancient Greek philosopher) "recorded some of the most accurate and early descriptions of aquatic life ... his account of the hectocotryl arm of the octopus was two thousand years ahead of its time." One would like to think that this was where Pugsley (or Gomez, if the question setter is able to prove me wrong) got the inspiration for the name of his pet.
